LAS HART Paramedic Steve Wright, who passed away aged 41
HART teams from all over the country are in mourning following the death of one of the first wave of London Ambulance Service HART Paramedics, Steve Wright, who was just 41 years old.
Tragically Steve passed away on the evening of Friday 11 September 2009 after an unexpected short illness.
HART Programme Manager Hilary Pillin underlined the strength of feeling for Steve among the whole HART community when she said:
“Steve was one of our first appointed HART paramedics and was an excellent role model. He was so helpful to us when setting up and running our early Physical Competence Assessments - placing great emphasis on the importance of physical fitness and kindly taking part in our recruitment DVD.
“Sadly his own high level of fitness was not enough this time to pull him through and it is a tragic loss for his family and his colleagues in London Ambulance Service."
Steve’s former manager and close colleague at London Ambulance Service for many years, Marc Rainey, said:
“This is a terrible shock for us all and the whole of the HART community is in mourning for Steve, who was extremely popular and will be greatly missed.
"I would like to pass on the condolences and support of everyone involved in HART to Steve's family, friends and the HART team in London.”
Representatives from HART teams across the country will be in attendance at Steve’s funeral.
